On this side of the ocean, you don’t “rent apartments” – you “hire flats.” Logically, I have five flatmates rather than suitemates or roommates , and what looks to be a good group of them. James from England is a final year chemistry student and apparently expert kayaker (spelling, anyone?). Dave from Scotland likes death metal, Star Trek and Arnold Schwarza…Shwarzza… nevermind. Jerome from France is incredibly friendly, and getting better at English by the day. Chris from England is in the St. Andrews Officer Training Corps and looks like he’s about 35. Juan Pablo, I was suprised to hear, is Peruvian. Second Peruvian roommate in two semesters, who woulda thunk it?
of course french people are nice! (you just have to get past the politics.. right?)
